Biography - Claudie Cheng
Claudie Cheng joined Market Clarity in February 2007 as a Telecommunications Research Intern through the UTS internship program. Following the successful completion of her internship, Claudie continued with Market Clarity as a Telecommunications Research Analyst while she finishes her Bachelor of Engineering degree at University of Technology, Sydney.
At Market Clarity, Claudie is responsible for researching international broadband statistics on an ongoing basis. She is the driving force behind the creation of Market Clarity's Broadband Research Portal, a free service, which provides links to the latest research on broadband in OECD nations. (Market Clarity will include links to non-OECD nation statistics in the future.)
Claudie maintains a watching brief on international developments, updating Market Clarity’s Broadband Research Portal as new publications become available.
Claudie was a key member of Market Clarity’s 2007 research into Australia’s international broadband standing. In particular, Claudie’s fluency in five (5) languages — English, French, Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin — enabled Market Clarity to locate relevant research that would not have otherwise been available to an English language researcher.
Claudie is also involved in the GIS mapping of Australian telecommunications infrastructure. She has participated in a range of research projects covering the local and international broadband and VoIP service markets.
Prior to Market Clarity, Claudie worked for Tel. Pacific from 2005-2007. She joined Tel. Pacific in the customer/technical support area as part of her first internship. In this role, Claudie provided internal technical support for data (broadband and dial-up) and voice (phone cards) services.
